I am a PhD candidate at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon. I am working on the development of a thesis on tolerance towards corruption in democracy funded by the Rectory of the University of Lisbon and by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.
I recently participated as a researcher in two projects that explored citizens' (the EPOCA-FCT project) and politicians' (the ETHICS-FFMS project) perceptions of corruption in Portugal. I have experience with designing corruption surveys and my research explores, beyond tolerance, the definitions, measurements, and impacts of perceptions of corruption on the quality of democracy.
I have been publishing in peer-reviewed journals such as Social Indicators Research, Public Integrity, and European Political Science. My most recent publication is an encyclopedia entry about “Tolerance towards Corruption” in the Elgar Encyclopedia of Corruption and Society.
I actively participated in organizing the 8th ICRN Forum 2024 in Lisbon.
